Friendly visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan
A friendly visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Uzbekistan took place. At the International Airport of Samarkand, the National Leader of the Turkmen people was met by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. From the airport, the joint motorcade of the Uzbek leader and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan headed to the historical and cultural complex of monuments "Hazrati Hizir" in the city of Samarkand. Upon arrival at the Islam Karimov Mausoleum, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers, paying tribute to the memory of the outstanding statesman and political figure of Uzbekistan. Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the head of the fraternal country proceeded to a specially designated place. According to Muslim traditions, the clergy read a verse from the Holy Quran and offered a prayer to the Almighty. Then the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, accompanied by the President of Uzbekistan, proceeded to the tourist square "Eternal City" in the international center "Silk Road Samarkand. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, accompanied by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, got acquainted with the objects of the huge complex with an area of more than 17 hectares. Having familiarized himself with the exhibits revealing the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, examples of handicrafts and applied art, and the features of the architectural objects located on the square, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan thanked President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and representatives of the Uzbek side for the well-organized tour. During the second day of the friendly visit, negotiations were held between the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. At the main entrance of the Congress Center, the high-ranking Turkmen guest was warmly welcomed by the head of Uzbekistan. Here, an official photo ceremony took place against the backdrop of the national flags of the two countries. Then a bilateral meeting took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
